How different companies acquired a .mobi domain name.

Company A,B & C:  Donated $500, $1,000, $5,000 and the domain name was cordially transferred in 2 hours.

Company D:  Stated the domain name was their trademarked right to ownership and was not going to pay for something that was their property.  Contentiously hired an IP law firm with $6,000.00 retainer to file a 30 page complaint with ICANN, then paid another $1,300.00 filing fee to begin proceedings.  Following two rounds of responses arbitration began.  Because non-profits have certain exceptions concerning domain use the administrative panel determined the ownership was valid and forced transfer was not granted.  The company then filed an unsuccessful court case... following a lengthy trial, their legal cost exceeded $30,000, and ultimately purchased the domain name at significant expense.
